The last time the Illinois College men's basketball team won this many games, the first baby boomers had not even hit kindergarten. The team played in the College Conference of Illinois -- a CCI without a W.

In 1948-49, Illinois College got Al Miller 18 of the 112 wins he compiled as the program's head coach. Only this season, 74 seasons later, did the Blue Boys surpass that record mark. IC improved to 19-2 with a 76-42 pounding of fellow downstate Midwest Conference program, Monmouth.

The win gives fifth-year head coach Steve Schweer his 55th career victory against 50 defeats since taking over the program for the 2018-19 season.

Jake Mazrimas led the team with 13 points and six rebounds on the night. Nestor Daboin had an impactful performance as well with 10 points and six rebounds. Other double-figure scorers included Jaxson Dian with 12 points and Josh Harris with 10 points.

The Blueboys relied on strong defensive play, holding the Fighting Scots to 25 percent shooting on the night.
