After two 7-17 seasons in the past three years, Noreen Pecsok is stepping down as head women's basketball coach at Middlebury. She will continue in her role as the school’s director of physical education. Pecsok also will work on department-wide initiatives that involve student-life issues.

“I want to thank Noreen for her 16 years of service to the women’s basketball program at Middlebury,” said athletic director Erin Quinn. “She is a valued colleague and I look forward to working with her in this important role. I know that she will continue to contribute to the college’s physical education and athletics programs and to our community.”

Pecsok finishes her coaching career at Middlebury with a 204-189 mark, and is 280-256 overall in 22 seasons as a Division III head coach, including six years at Franklin and Marshall. Her best campaign came in 2001-2002, when her team advanced to the NESCAC championship game and finished with an overall record of 22-5.

Pecsok said she looks forward to focusing on her administrative role as director of physical education. “I am excited to pursue my long-held interests in student wellness and department community service projects,” she said. “I believe there is a lot we can do to continue to improve the courses and programs we offer our students.”
