No. 3 WPI and No. 6 Wesley both went down on Thursday night, as the Engineers lost to giant-killer Emerson and Wesley lost to York, which had only won three games all year coming in.

Second-ranked Cabrini, not sure when Aaron Walton-Moss will return from injury, avoided the Thursday night bug when its game with Immaculata was postponed because of the lack of power on campus.

Emerson used a 16-0 run in the first half and never trailed thereafter, holding on for a thrilling 71-67 win to deliver WPI its first NEWMAC loss and interrupt a 15-game winning streak. Emerson had previously scored an upset over then No. 1-Amherst at home on Dec. 7.

Jon Goldberg had 16 points and 15 rebounds after receiving a bloody nose in the first half, while Thorpe, a guard, had 17 points and 10 boards (as well as 12 rebounds).

York (Pa.) held Wesley to 17-for-58 shooting from the floor and a dismal 1-for-15 from 3-point range in defeating the Wolverines 62-48. Ryan Beaver came off the bench to score 19 points in 25 minutes for the Spartans (4-16, 2-9 CAC). It's York's biggest win against a team ranked in the D3hoops.com Top 25 since the Spartans defeated No. 6 Catholic in November 2000, during the Cardinals' national title season.

Albertus Magnus avoided getting knocked off as well, as Anna Maria nearly came all the way back from a 13-point deficit before the No. 19 Falcons held on for a 109-104 win.

Staten Island used a late first half run that extended through the second period to open up what was otherwise a close contest, to score a 95-73 win over St. Joseph's (Bklyn.). The Dolphins ran their winning streak to 18 games. Percy Settle scored a game-high 31 points and Ryan Hagan added 21 as Sul Ross State defeated University of the Ozarks 105-104 in triple overtime.

Thursday's women's wrapup

No. 8 FDU-Florham remained unbeaten, improving to 20-0 with a 67-52 victory over Manhattanville. Rachel Groom had a game-high 16 points for the Devils. It's the best start in program history. Sixteen players played at least three minutes as York had no trouble with Wesley in the schools' women's game. The 10th-ranked Spartans received 22 assists on 29 baskets in a 73-48 win.

New Jersey City continued to stay in the running for an NJAC playoff spot, defeating Richard Stockton for the first time in 1998 in a 69-66 road win. Four starters reached double figures, combining for 59 points as NJCU snapped a 21-game losing streak to the Ospreys.

Regis closed the first half on an 18-0 run and pulled away from Mitchell, snapping the Mariners' 10-game wining streak. Regis won its 11th consecutive game, remaining unbeaten in the NECC and improving to 17-4 overall.

Christina Brosnahan and Morgan Kilgore each scored 25 points as UT-Dallas earned a 71-60 road win over Mississippi College. The Comets (17-3, 14-3) tighten their grip on second place in the ASC after picking up their fourth straight win. UTD remains one game behind Texas-Tyler and is still a full game ahead of third-place Mary Hardin-Baylor.
