Centre pushed DePauw to the limit before the Tigers escaped with another win.

No. 1 DePauw outlasted former conference mate Centre 68-64 in a double-overtime classic. The Tigers have won 38 consecutive games and 57 straight in the regular season.

Centre hit three of four free throws in the final minute of the first overtime, but the one miss left the door open just enough for DePauw's Emma Ondik to hit a game-tying three pointer with 11 seconds left. DePauw hit eight free throws in the second overtime to pull out the victory. Preseason All-American Paige Baechle had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Centre. Full story

Northern Athletics Conference champion Wisconsin Lutheran has put together a challenging non-conference schedule with back-to-back games against No. 2 Washington U. and No. 9 Hope. After being overpowered by Washington U. last night, the Warriors put up a good fight against Hope before falling in overtime 78-72. Melissa Klem had 26 points for Wisconsin Lutheran. Maura McAfee continued her strong play for Hope with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

No. 7 Amherst defeated RPI 80-57 for its 89th consecutive home victory, setting a new Division III women's record. Rust previously held the record with 88 wins from January 1982 to February 1989.

No. 23 UW-Stevens Point erased a seven-point halftime deficit and edged Illinois Wesleyan 73-71 on the Titans' home court. Illinois Wesleyan forced 24 Pointer turnovers but missed eight of 18 free throw attempts.

Sarah Anderegg and Heather Johns combined for nearly 60 percent of Whitman's points and the Missionairies topped UC Santa Cruz 69-65. TCNJ opened conference play with a victory over No. 18 William Paterson 79-78. Kelly Coughlin hit two late threes to push the Lions to victory.

Scranton topped King's 79-65 in a battle of former Freedom Conference rivals. Babson got back on track with a 70-56 victory over Smith in an early match-up of the NEWMAC's preseason favorites.

No. 8 Wooster topped No. 5 Wheaton (Ill.) 77-73 behind big performances from Xavier Brown and Doug Thorpe for the second straight night. With the game tied at 67, Thorpe hit a three-pointer, made a layup and hit another three in consecutive possessions. After Tyler Peters made a layup to pull the Thunder within two, Thorpe made two free throws to seal the victory. Thorpe had 21 points and Brown added 16 for the Scots (3-0).

A pair of Spartans upset Top 10 ranked teams. Castleton State outrebounded No. 9 WPI 39-24 and outscored the Engineers 77-65. Scott Laskowski came off the bench for Aurora and scored 18 points on six-for-six shooting as those Spartans defeated No. 6 North Central (Ill.) 91-82.

No. 22 Rhode Island College defeated Brandeis 73-72 on a Michael Palumbo layup at the buzzer. Chris Stuckey made a layup with 11 seconds left as Rust nipped Huntingdon 88-87. Macalester outlasted Lake Forest 92-89 in triple overtime. Dylan Kilgour scored 40 points for the Scots whose starters scored all but eight points.

Benedictine defeated Alma 91-70 for the first win of this season and the 1000th in program history.
