Fox throws in 43; Willamette, ONU survive
Hannah Fox scored a tournament-record 43 points, while Willamette scored just two points in the fourth quarter and won with 43 points. UW-Platteville came out 2-0 after a thrilling overtime win and Ohio Northern held off North Central (Ill.) in Day 2 action at the ninth annual D3hoops.com Classic.

Roberts' Classic record leads Stevenson
The lights dimmed as Stevenson was introduced as if a show, not a basketball game, was about to begin at the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic. In fact, both occurred on Friday as the Mustangs defeated Wittenberg 75-65.

Emory announced that women's basketball coach Christy Thomaskutty is stepping down from her position for health reasons. Misha Jackson, who played and coached under Thomaskutty, will serve as interim head coach.
Hiram selects alumna for new coach
Hiram selected Alex Dellas as its new head women's basketball coach. Dellas, who graduated from the College in 2010, replaces Emily Hays who left for the head coaching position at Dickinson.
Kornaker steps down at St. John Fisher
The winningest active men's coach in the East Region has stepped down as Rob Kornaker announced he is leaving St. John Fisher to spend more time with his family. The College named Mike Grosodonia II as his replacement.
La Crosse names Dernbach interim coach
UW-La Crosse selected Stevens Point assistant Kent Dernbach as its interim head coach. He was the Pointers' interim head coach during Bob Semling's suspension related to the NCAA's investigation of program violations related to out-of-season practices.
Eberhardt resigns; interim replacement named
UW-Superior lost its second head basketball coach this month as Paul Eberhardt stepped down from his position atop the men's program. The University named alum Greg Polkowski as the interim head coach for this season.
St. John Fisher reels in Hilbert coach
St. John Fisher named Melissa Kuberka as its new head women's basketball coach and only the third in program history. She replaces Marianne O'Connor-Ermi who led the Cardinals to two NCAA Tournaments.
Koelbl leaving Lax
Ken Koelbl has decided to step down as head men's basketball coach at UW-La Crosse effective immediately. He will remain with the university in its admissions office and the Eagles will name an interim head coach.
Mulhern moves from Superior to St. Kate's
Don Mulhern, who won titles in two different conferences with UW-Superior, will be the next head coach at St. Catherine. He replaces Sean Pinkerton who took over Oswego State's program.

Less than a week after announcing Dana Barros' resignation as head men's basketball coach, Newbury College announced that Pine Manor head coach Rich Fazzi will fill that vacancy.

Staten Island makes interim hire
Staten Island turned to former player T.J. Tibbs as its interim head coach to fill the vacancy created by Tony Petosa's retirement. Tibbs was the interim head coach for Mount St. Vincent last season.
ASC veteran gets her Le-turn as head coach
Cassi Rozanski played four years at Texas-Dallas and coached seven years at Texas-Tyler. After two seasons away from the conference, she gets her chance to be a head coach in the ASC at LeTourneau.
Eureka finds next coach in-house
Amos Arbogast will move from the Eureka men's basketball team, where he has been an assistant coach since 2011, to the women's team where he'll be the next head coach.
Schaetzle gets a shot with Pitt-Greensburg
Pitt-Greensburg named Hayley Schaetzle as its new head women's basketball coach. She was previously a graduate assistant to Roz Fornari at Penn State-Behrend and was briefly interim coach when Fornari retired.
ODAC All-American to lead Ferrum men
Shortly after announcing its upcoming move to the ODAC, Ferrum announced that one of the ODAC's best players in recent history will be its new head men's basketball coach. Tyler Sanborn, who was a two-time All-American for Guilford, was announced as the choice this week.
Oberlin assistant takes over at Bard
Casi Donelan, who was the primary assistant to Kerry Jenkins at Oberlin for three seasons, will be the next women's basketball head coach at Bard College.

Pitt-Greensburg selected Brody Jackson, an assistant coach at Mount Union, to be its new head men's basketball coach. He replaces Sean Strickland who was let go earlier this summer.
Petosa steps down at Staten Island
Making a decision he described as "fifty percent personal and fifty percent basketball," Staten Island's Tony Petosa has resigned from his position as men's basketball coach. Petosa was the College's winningest coach in any sport with 459 wins.

Coe women's basketball head coach Nate Oakland stepped down to take an assistant position at D1 North Dakota State. The College has promoted assistant Kayla Waskow to fill the vacancy.

Wittenberg promoted Kelly Mahlum to head coach after she completed a season as the Tigers' interim leader. Mahlum was previously the head coach at Colorado College and Greensboro.
Walsh hired at Shenandoah
Adam Walsh is coming home to Winchester, Va. to coach the Shenandoah men's team. He spent the last seven seasons guiding Centenary (La.) through its transition to Division III.
Caltech replaces women's coach
Caltech named Bridgette Reyes as its new head coach, replacing Sandra Marbut who went 27-321 in 14 seasons with the Beavers.
CLU goes coast to coast
Cal Lutheran went all the way to Hackettstown, N.J. to pick its next men's basketball coach. Tim Fusina, who coached at Centenary for four seasons, will lead the Kingsmen next season.

Sewanee selected assistant coach Michael Hedgepeth as its new head men's basketball coach, replacing Bradley Pierson who resigned after one season. Hedgepeth was previously an assistant at Williams College.
Ozarks takes Texas-Dallas alum as coach
The University of Ozarks named Travis Carruthers as its new head men's basketball coach. Carruthers played and coached at Texas-Dallas and then at Howard Payne.
Schreiner takes Rhodes assistant
Schreiner University turned to Samantha Davidson as its next head women's basketball coach. She has spent time coaching in Tennessee at the high school, Division I and Division III levels since graduating from Birmingham-Southern.
Funk retires from Johns Hopkins
After 31 years and more than 500 victories, Nancy Funk announced her retirement as Johns Hopkins' women's basketball coach on Tuesday. Her announcement coincides with the retirement of the Blue Jays' long-time men's coach Bill Nelson.
Earlham coach steps down
Earlham College announced that Melissa Johnson will not return as the Quakers' head coach following a long battle with life-threatening health issues. Johnson cited "a major setback" in her decision to resign.
Bridgewater looks far north for new coach
Bridgewater (Va.) tabbed Sarah Gaffney as the third coach in the program's history, replacing recently retired Jean Willi. Gaffney spent the last three seasons as head coach of Keuka College in Upstate New York.
Broadhurst to Lead Keuka women’s basketball
Gary Broadhurst will become the 13th women’s basketball coach in Keuka College history, replacing Sarah Gaffney who left to take the head coaching job at Bridgewater College in Virginia.

Steve Thompson, who was the SLIAC Coach of the Year last season, is stepping down from his job as women's basketball head coach. He will remain Eureka's Director of Athletics
Ferr-enough: Tharp steps down
After 12 seasons as Ferrum's head coach, Bill Tharp has decided not to return to the Panthers' sideline next season. He leaves as the program's all-time leader for coaching victories since it moved to Division III in 1985.
Rock out, Whittier: Poets change coaches
Rock Carter announced he is stepping down as Whittier's head men's basketball coach.. Assistant Mark Jensen will be the Poets' interim head coach through the 2017-18 season.
Goucher names Preston as head coach
Goucher named Andrea Preston as its new head women's basketball coach. Preston was previously the head coach at Hiram and Clarkson before joining Dixie Jeffers' staff at Capital for three seasons.
Payne logs off, heads to D1
Puget Sound head coach Loree Payne is leaving the Loggers to become a Lumberjack. She will be the next head coach at Division I Northern Arizona University after leading UPS to its first outright NWC title in program history.
Sul Ross hires new women's coach again
Sul Ross State hired Katie Novak Peebles as its next head women's basketball coach. She replaces Caleb Henson who resigned In January, less than 10 months after being hired.
JCU keeps it in the family
After Mike Moran retired as head basketball coach at John Carroll, the Blue Streaks turned to his son Pete to take his place. Pete was an assistant under his father the past five seasons.
Skarzenski returns to alma mater
MaryLynn Skarzenski is returning to Nichols College where she was a four-time all-star and conference player of the year. Skarzenski had just finished her fourth season as the head coach at Mitchell College.
Jimmy Smith returns to D3
Jimmy Smith, who had short but successful tenures as the head coach at Schreiner and Texas Lutheran, is returning to Division III after one year as a Division I assistant. He's the next head coach at Millsaps College.
Valley Forge hires new coach
Valley Forge named DJ Damazo, who was an assistant at nearby Eastern University, as its new head coach for men's basketball.
PLU picks new men's coach
Pacific Lutheran named Chad Murray, who coached at Cornell and played at Chapman, as its new head men's basketball coach. He replaces Steve Dickerson who retired at the end of last season.
Mueller steps down at Nebraska Wesleyan
After four seasons at Nebraska Wesleyan, Britni Mueller has stepped down to spend more time with her family. The Prairie Wolves went 13-13 last season for their first non-losing campaign in over a decade.

Tracey Braden, head women's basketball coach of Westminster (Mo.) for the past 10 years, is moving to Sewanee.
Aanonsen moves from Lakeland to WLC
Aaron Aanonsen is moving from Lakeland to Wisconsin Lutheran to become the Warriors' new head men's basketball coach. He will replace Skip Noon who will focus on his duties as school's athletic director.
Berry's coach Dunn and moving on
Stephanie Dunn resigned from her position as Berry head women's basketball coach to take a high school coaching job. Thomas Johnson, who was an assistant coach for the men's team, will fill the vacancy.
D-III says farewell to Fahey
On the heels of her 737th career win and her 29th NCAA Tournament trip, legendary Washington U. coach Nancy Fahey is moving on, and up, to the Big Ten.
