Opening night in the WIAC brought road victories for No. 4 UW-La Crosse and No. 15 UW-Oshkosh while Illinois Wesleyan started CCIW play with a win at No. 11 Elmhurst. On the women's side, No. 1 Hope fended off archrival No. 15 Calvin and UW-Platteville rolled at No. 19 UW-Oshkosh.
Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team opened its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) season with a 88-74 win at UW-Whitewater Wednesday night in Kachel Gymnasium in Williams Center. The Eagles, ranked fourth on D3hoops.com, improve to 7-0 overall while the Warhawks drop to 4-3. UW-Whitewater was also playing its conference opener.

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 65-63 win over 20th-ranked Saint John's University (Minn.) Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Johnnies, ranked 20th on the D3hoops.com Preseason Top-25 Poll, falls to 2-1 on the year. It marks the second straight season UWL has won its first four games.
UW-La Crosse selected Stevens Point assistant Kent Dernbach as its interim head coach. He was the Pointers' interim head coach during Bob Semling's suspension related to the NCAA's investigation of program violations related to out-of-season practices.
Ken Koelbl has decided to step down as head men's basketball coach at UW-La Crosse effective immediately. He will remain with the university in its admissions office and the Eagles will name an interim head coach.
Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team earned a 76-66 victory at UW-Eau Claire Tuesday night in the first round of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships (presented by Culver's). The Eagles improve to 14-12 on the season and advance to play at sixth-ranked UW-River Falls Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. in the tournament semifinals. UW-Eau Claire drops to 18-8 on the season with Tuesday's loss.
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team earned a 77-52 victory over UW-Stout Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' regular-season home finale. UWL improves to 13-11 overall and 5-8 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while UW-Stout drops to 13-11 overall and 4-9 in the conference.
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team earned a 91-86 home victory over UW-Platteville Saturday on Senior Night. The Eagles improve to 11-10 overall and 3-7 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pioneers fall to 8-11 overall and 1-9 in the conference. UWL swept the regular-season meetings, picking up a 77-66 victory in Platteville January 21.
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team fell 61-55 to UW-Oshkosh Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles drop to 10-8 overall and 2-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Titans improve to 11-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference. UW-Oshkosh earned its third straight win over UWL.

The Eagles fall to 9-7 overall and 1-4 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Falcons improve to 15-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference. UW-River Falls, ranked fifth on this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, earned its 13th straight win Wednesday.

The Eagles drop to 9-5 overall and 1-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Blugolds improve to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference. UW-Eau Claire earns its sixth win in the last eight meetings with UWL.
