Utica's Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) led the Pioneers with 15 points and six rebounds, while Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) chipped in with 14 points and nine boards.

    The Utica College women's basketball team led for the majority of the contest on its way to a 52-41 victory over visiting Nazareth College in Empire 8 Conference action at the Clark Athletic Center on Friday night. UC's Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) netted 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to secure her 11th double-double of the season. Greenwald now averages 10.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game this season.

    The Houghton College women's basketball team rallied from a 14 point second half deficit to defeat visiting Utica College, 70-64, Tuesday night. Houghton outscored UC 23-3 in the final 6:28 of action to come from behind and earn the six point victory. Utica's Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) netted a career-high 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the way for the Pioneers.

    The Utica College women's basketball team lost to visiting St. John Fisher College 80-57 in Empire 8 Conference action at the Clark Athletic Center on Tuesday night. Utica's Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) netted 23 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor (3-of-5 from 3-points land). Freshman Kelsey Cowell (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) tied her career-high with 15 rebounds and she also added eight points for the Pioneers.

    The Utica College women's basketball team led 39-38 with 16:42 left in the game, but visiting Hartwick College answered with a 22-10 run in the next 12:39 to pull away from the Pioneers en route to earning a 72-58 victory in Empire 8 Conference action Friday night at the Clark Athletic Center. The Hawks remain undefeated in Empire 8 play this season (7-0) and improved to 14-3 overall after the victory.

    The Utica College women's basketball team outscored visiting Union 27-11 in the final 10:22 of action, but the comeback bid fell just short, as visiting Union College escaped with a 58-57 victory to improve to 6-1 overall on the year Tuesday night at the Clark Athletic Center. Utica's Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) had a chance to tie the game after being sent to the free throw line with .5 left in regulation. Greenwald was able to convert the first of two free throws, but the second came up just short as the Dutchwomen escaped with their fourth consecutive victory.

    Sophomore Samantha Stayer sunk four free throws with less than a minute remaining to propel the Utica College women's basketball team over visiting Hartwick College, 64-61 in the Pioneers' “Play 4 Kay” night sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts. The Empire 8 Conference game was also broadcast live across New York State on the Time Warner Cable Sports Network.

    Senior Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) and sophomore Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) combined for the Pioneers final 13 points as the Utica College women's basketball rallied to defeated host Nazareth College 63-60 in Empire 8 Conference action Saturday afternoon at Kidera Gymnasium. Fiore finished the day with a game-high 27 points and seven rebounds, while Stayer closed out the afternoon with 11 points. The Pioneers improved to 8-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

    The Utica College women's basketball team downed Alfred University 82-58 Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference action at the Clark Athletic Center. The Pioneers were led by senior forward Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping)'s second consecutive double-double, as she tallied 24 points and 12 boards. Fiore shot 64.3% from the floor (9-of-14) and freshman Racquel Baudanza (Staten Island, NY/New Dorp) added 16 points for the Pioneers, including a 6-for-7 effort from the charity stripe. The Pioneers made 21 total free-throws, a stark contrast from Friday night's 11-for-25 effort from the line when UC came away with an overtime victory over visiting Fisher.

    The Utica College women's basketball team made “A Game For Brooks Miles” a truly special one as the Pioneers topped visiting Stevens 59-53 and raised over $400 for the Faxton St. Luke's Foundation and the Children's Miracle Network. The Pioneers were led by a 17 point, 15 rebound effort from senior forward Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) and a 12 rebound, 10 point output from junior forward Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills).

    Senior forward Meghan Fiore netted a season-high 28 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the floor as the Utica College women's basketball team lost a 77-67 decision against visiting RPI on Tuesday night at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium. The Pioneers rebounded from a off-shooting night on Monday to connect on 28-of-53 field goals (52.8%), but it was not enough as the visiting Engineers won their third consecutive game and improved on 4-1 overall on the year.

    Utica College junior forward Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) hauled in a career-high 22 rebounds, including 16 on the offensive glass, but it was not enough to fend off visiting Oneonta State Monday night in the home-opener for the UC women's basketball team. The Red Dragons held the Pioneers to just eight points in the second half and 18% (11-for-61) shooting from the floor on their way to a 59-29 victory in non-conference action.

    The Utica College women's basketball team jumped out to a convincing 44-22 lead in the first half and never looked back as it improved to 2-0 on the year after a 79-55 win over host The Sage Colleges on Saturday afternoon. Five different players scored at least nine points for the Pioneers, including sophomore forward Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone), who tallied 12 points and six rebounds off the bench. Junior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) added a game-high 12 rebounds and posted nine points. The win marks the fourth straight year that the Pioneers have won their first two contests of the season.

    Alfred University made a late charge, cutting the Pioneers lead to as few as four points with less than a minute to go, but senior point guard Katie McGee was able to net the Pioneers final ten points to help lift the Utica College women's basketball team to a 70-62 victory in Empire 8 Conference play at home on Friday night. The Pioneers snapped an eight game slide and improved to 6-10 overall and they also picked up their first conference victory of the season.

    The Utica College women's basketball team kept the pressure on late in the contest but visiting Drew University seemed to have every answer as the Rangers earned a 62-60 victory in non-conference play at the Clark Athletic Center on Tuesday night. UC was able to cut their deficit to just two points on two different occasions in the final 1:10 of the contest but Drew managed to cling to the lead en route to their fifth victory of the season. Junior forward Meghan Fiore totaled a game-high 26 points and she also added nine rebounds for Utica.

The Pioneers, who will travel to top-seeded Ithaca College on next Friday night for the semi-final game of the conference tournament, improved to 15-10 overall and 11-5 in the E8. Senior forward Jessica Berry and sophomore Meghan Fiore combined for 44 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Pioneers.

    The Utica College women's basketball team defeated visiting Rochester Institute of Technology 72-59 in Empire 8 Conference action Friday night at the Clark Athletic Center. The Pioneers celebrated senior night and five Pioneers played their final game at the Clark Gymnasium. Those seniors included reigning conference player of the year Jessica Berry, all-conference guard Devon Croll, Stephanie Nara, Janelle Nixon and Casey Orlando. Berry led all scorers with 24 points and nine rebounds to pace Utica to its fourth win in five games.
