In their previous match-up, the Gators overpowered the Yeowomen in a 19 point victory at home; however, Allegheny would find a very motivated Oberlin squad waiting to avenge their earlier loss. The Gators would find themselves down by as much as 11, but would once again show why they can never be counted out, beating Oberlin 68-63.

However, the Carnegie Mellon would bust out of their rut early in the second half, and defeat the Gators 61-54.

What followed could only be described as miraculous, as Allegheny went on a 29-8 run to force overtime and complete one of the most improbable comebacks in program history.
