LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team opened a week of three games by jumping past Rockford at home.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine wasted no time in seizing control of the contest
• In just over five minutes, Benedictine opened a 21-0 lead and the starters were bound for the bench
• Consecutive threes from Claire Gibler and Britney Pitzer capped the early surge
• Reggie Much deposited a three in the closing moments of the opening quarter to give Benedictine a 34-4 lead
• Rockford cut the lead to 20 points in the second quarter, but Benedictine tallied the final five points on a three from Pitzer and a jumper from Much to lead 58-30 at the half
• The entire roster had the opportunity to play in the second half as Benedictine continued to build on the advantage and eased to a fourth consecutive win
• Benedictine, still the only unbeaten team in conference play, has now won 20 straight at home
STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine shot over 60 percent in each of the first two quarters and finished the game at 55.2 percent
• Benedictine made 15 three-pointers, a season high, scored 31 points off turnovers along with 42 in the paint and held a 40-27 advantage on the glass
• Gibler connected on four three-pointers and tallied a career high 22 points in 20 minutes of action
• Alex Fanning was the only other player to reach double figures, finishing with 10 points and four rebounds in just under nine minutes of play
