The Millikin women's basketball team defeated North Central College 74-53 on January 8 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.

         Millikin held the lead in the game for 35 minutes leading at the end of every quarter.  The game had four lead changes with two ties.  The Big Blue led 18-15 after the first quarter and 39-34 at the half.  Millikin outscored the Cardinals 20-9 in the third quarter and 15-10 in the fourth quarter.

         Millikin shot 40 percent from the field (28-70) and made 10-26 (38.5 percent) from three-point range.  North Central was held to 29 percent from the field and went 5-17 from beyond the arc.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 54 to 36. 

         Millikin had four players in double figures in scoring lead by Aubrey Staton with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Bailey Coffman had 13 points and Jordan Hildebrand had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Abby Ratsch had 10 points and seven rebounds.

         Page Desenberg led North Central with 15 points.

         Millikin improves to 9-4, 2-2 while North Central goes to 5-9, 1-4.

         The Big Blue host Augustana College on Saturday, January 11 at 2 p.m.
