Baruch Runs Past Yeshiva (83-63), Two Players Notch Double-Doubles

Nia Dawson scored 23 points, while Melinda Spahiu (7-11 fg, 16 pts, 14 rbs, 6 assts) and Daniela Zirpolo (7-11 fg, 14 pts, 14 rbs) each had a double-double to lead the Bearcats to an 83-63 win against the Maccabees of Yeshiva University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats were the visiting team on the scoreboard against their neighbors Yeshiva, who also play their home games at Baruch.

The two teams combined for 90 points in the first half with the Bearcats owning a 51-39 lead at the break.

The Bearcats led a close one, 35-34, midway through the second quarter, but went on a 10-0 run to jump ahead 45-34 with two minutes left before the half. That run proved pivotal as Yeshiva never got as close as eight points the rest of the game.

Four players finished in double-figure scoring, which included Frances Snyder with 10 points.

Tehilla Teigman led Yeshiva with a double-double of 16 points, 19 rebounds, and five steals.
