The Oglethorpe women's basketball team saw three players earn spots on the All-SAA teams released Monday by the league office and voted by the SAA coaches. Senior forward Lauren Ransom won the SAA Player of the Year award for her efforts and earned a spot on the All-SAA first team. Sophomore center Savannah LeGate took All-SAA second team honors while senior guard Bailey Charles garnered All-SAA honorable mention.

Ransom earned her second career end-of-season award and her fourth All-SAA nod. She took SAA Defensive Player of the Year and All-SAA first team honors in 2017 and also has second-team and honorable-mention accolades to her name. This season, she's third in the league in rebounding (7.6 per game) and blocks (1.6), and is fifth in field-goal percentage (45.6). She earned SAA all-tournament honors for her efforts over the weekend at the conference tournament in Jackson, Mississippi, scoring 23 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and swatting seven shots in a losing effort in Sunday's championship game. She won the SAA Player of the Week award two weeks in a row to close out the regular season, taking the prize Feb. 11 and 18.

LeGate earned her second All-SAA accolade in as many years after taking first-team honors in 2018. The preseason all-American finished second in the league in overall rebounding (7.8 per game) and first in offensive rebounding (3.3). She also currently sits second in the SAA in blocks with 2.2 per contest and is third in made field goals with 122. She won the SAA Player of the Week award three times over the course of the season, earning the honor on Nov. 26, Dec. 10 and Dec. 31.

Charles garnered her fourth consecutive All-SAA honorable mention. She currently places second on the league leaderboard in assist-to-turnover ratio, holding a 1.7 mark in that category. She's in the SAA top 10 in assists (2.4 per game) and steals (1.3), and has only committed 1.4 turnovers per game over the course of the season.

The Petrels are currently 22-6 overall and they finished 11-3 in SAA play. The 22 wins mark the most for the program since 2008-09, and the 11-3 conference record was good enough for second place in the league standings. Oglethorpe fell to fourth-seeded Rhodes 56-41 Sunday afternoon in the SAA Tournament championship and will now wait to see if they'll earn one of 20 general at-large spots to the NCAA tournament field. The bracket will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Monday on NCAA.com.
