KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team defeated Gallaudet University 76-73 on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Keuka College (17-4, 12-1 NEAC) had four players score in double figures, led by Jariah Johnson (New York, N.Y. / Frederick Douglas Academy) with 18 points. Lauren Anten (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) was right behind her with 17 and Sam Laranjo (Averill Park, N.Y. / Averill Park) finished with 15 points. Abby Hess (Cortland, N.Y. / Cortland) scored 11 points and tied Anten for the team lead with nine rebounds.

Sam Laranjo scored seconds into the game for the Wolves, but it would be the Bison who pulled ahead in the first quarter. Overall, Keuka College had seven turnovers in the quarter, but only trailed 13-12 after one.

A three by the Bison pushed their lead to four points. The margin would later grow to five midway through the second, Gallaudet's largest lead of the game. The Green and Gold continued to fight as they trailed by one, 27-26 at the half.

The third quarter was all Keuka College. The Wolves opened with six unanswered to take the lead over the Bison. Keuka College then created separation as they outscored Gallaudet 14-2 in the final five minutes of the third. Overall, Keuka College outscored the Bison 26-10 in the frame, carrying a 52-37 lead into the final quarter.

The Bison had a run of their own to start the fourth as Gallaudet scored the first 11 points of the quarter to make it 52-48. The Wolves responded to push the lead back to eight, but the Bison did not go away as the game would remain close down to the final minutes. Gallaudet went to the free throw line down by four with five seconds left. After hitting their first, the Bison go the rebound and had a three-pointer to tie the game. The last-second effort was short as the Wolves held on to defeat the Bison 76-73.

• Saturday was the ninth straight win for Keuka College over Gallaudet. The Wolves lead the all-time series 9-2
• It was the second straight game that Keuka College did not make a three-pointer
• The Green and Gold shot 50% from the floor and held Gallaudet University to just 29.7%

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain at home on Sunday as Keuka College hosts Lancaster Bible College at 1pm. The Chargers defeated the Wolves by four in Lancaster last season. Overall, Lancaster Bible is 7-2 against Keuka College.
