LEWISTON, Maine -- First-year Meghan Graff scored a career-high 21 points, including 17 in the first half, and senior captain Erika Lamere added a season-high 14 points to lead the Bates women's basketball team to a 65-50 win over Norwich University Tuesday night at Alumni Gymnasium. 

The Bobcats (6-7) shot 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three. They held the Cadets (6-9) to 27.9% shooting overall and 21.4% from three. First-year Ariana Dalia (Brick, N.J.) pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds on the night to go along with three points, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Junior Melanie Binkhorst (West Hartford, Conn.) added nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot. 

Emily Oliver paced the Cadets with 16 points while Mary Casamassa tallied a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. She also dished out a game-high four assists.  

Bates and Norwich stood tied at 11 when Graff (South Portland, Maine) hit a three with 3:43 left in the first quarter to put the Bobcats ahead for good. The Cadets cut the Bates lead to one with 3:20 remaining on a pair of Casamassa free throws but Lamere (Weston, Mass.) answered with a three to give the Bobcats a 17-13 lead. 

After a Naomi Rinaldo layup trimmed the Bates edge to two, the Bobcats went on an 11-0 run that began in the first quarter with a jumper from first-year Amaari Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and culminated with a layup from first-year Mia Roy (Bedford, N.H.) which put Bates up 28-15 with 6:45 remaining in the second quarter.

Bates took a 40-25 lead into halftime. Graff scored nine points in the first quarter on 4-7 shooting and eight points on 2-5 shooting in the second quarter. 

The Bobcats took their biggest lead of the game when Lamere drilled a three with 7:48 remaining to put Bates up by 22 points, 61-39. 

Graff made 8-16 shots on the night. She also grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded a steal. Lamere hit four three-pointers on nine attempts, grabbed four rebounds, recorded two assists and blocked a shot. 

Bates returns to action on Thursday when the Bobcats host UMaine-Farmington at 7pm.
