Big Fourth Quarter Pushes Rochester Past Brockport

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Rochester outscored Brockport, 24-6 in the fourth quarter to earn a 61-44 victory over the Golden Eagles on Tuesday evening at the Louis Alexander Palestra. Brockport led, 38-37, through the first three quarters.
 
UR hit seven of 13 from the floor (54%), four of six outside the arc (67%) and six of seven at the line (86%) in the crucial fourth quarter. This is Rochester's second consecutive win after an 0-4 start. Camryn Fagan led all scorers with 17 points and four steals. Lena Ethington had 11 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Julianna Okoniewski had 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Lauren Foley scored 10 points, including a pair of treys.
 
Chelsea Henry led Brockport with 12 points. Allison Chiera had eight points, five rebounds, and three steals. The Golden Eagles made only 2 of 13 from the floor in the fourth period and missed all eight of their three-point attempts. Brockport committed 22 turnovers, leading to 28 Rochester points. UR totaled 16 steals.

Rochester opened the fourth quarter on a 13-2 run over the first five minutes. Brenna James and  Foley hit back to back three-pointers in the stretch. Okoniewski started it with a layup and closed it with a traditional three-point play, laying the ball in and making a free throw after being fouled by Emily Nestler.
 
Brockport led, 16-10 early in the second quarter when UR went on an 11-5 flurry to tie the score at 21-21. Fagan scored seven of the 11 points. Okoniewski had a short jumpshot and Gillian Mair closed the run with a layup. The Golden Eagles eventually stretched the lead to 31-26 at halftime.
 
UR outscored Brockport, 11-2, at the start of the third quarter on the strength of five points from Fagan and two layups by James. It put UR ahead, 37-33. Nestler's layup got Brockport within two and Henry's second trey of the night put the guests up by one going into the last 10 minutes.
 
The 13-2 run pushed UR ahead by 10 (50-40). With Brockport within 52-44, in the last four minutes, Fagan and Foley hit three-pointers and James sank two free throws. That made it 60-44.
