BLUFFTON, OHIO – Manchester University put three players in double-figures and finished with one double-double effort to spotlight a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference clash at Bluffton University Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Spartans, dipping to 7-17 overall and 6-1 in the conference, received 17 points from sophomore guard Nicole Weaver (Fort Wayne, Ind.); 14 points from junior guard Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind.); and 11 points from fellow sophomore guard Haley Farris (Sharpsville, Ind.). Farris' stellar night on BU's Copeland Court at the Sommer Center didn't stop in the scoring column, either, as she also grabbed 11 rebounds and picked up four steals as part of her first collegiate double-double.

While those positives gave Black and Gold fans in attendance reason to cheer, a rough first 20 minutes proved to be the difference. Hitting just 20.8 percent from the field and missing on each of their eight three-point attempts in the frame, MU found itself trailing the Beavers 40-15 at the break. However, Coach Josh Dzurick's side dug in and managed to whittle down as much as a 36-point deficit to the 76-57 final.

The Spartans, part of a four-way tie for fifth place on the loop standings, close out the 2017-18 regular season with a critical home match-up against regular season league champion Rose-Hulman Saturday, Feb. 17. Game time at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena is 3 p.m.
