Sophomore forward Sofia Recupero (Whitestone, N.Y./Saint Francis Prep) scored a game-high 18 points to lead five Lady Royals in double figures as The University of Scranton women's basketball team knocked off Lebanon Valley, 70-59, on Monday afternoon in the Long Center.

Scranton (9-1) was playing its fourth game in six days, but showed little sign of fatigue, shooting 43.8 percent (21-for-48) from the field and knocking down 24 of 27 (88.9 percent) from the free throw line.

Recupero was 7-for-10 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line while adding seven rebounds and an assist in just 16 minutes of action.

Senior forward Katie Feehery (Media, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) had her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and also had three blocks. In the last six games, Feehery is averaging 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game off the bench.

Senior guard Katie Broderick (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) had 12 points, two rebounds and three assists, and junior guard Bridgette Mann (Canadensis, Pa./Wallenpaupack) finished with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and a block.

Sophomore forward Makenzie Mason (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) also had a strong game with 10 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.

The Lady Royals won despite hitting just 4 of 15 (26.7) from 3-point range. They committed 14 turnovers, but continued their dominance on the boards with a 39-26 edge.

Lebanon Valley (7-4) shot 22-for-60 (36.7 percent) fffrom the field, including 6 of 19 (31.6 percent) from 3-point range. The Dutchmen hit 9 of 12 from the free throw line and committed just eight turnovers.

Scranton will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 29, when the Lady Royals face Wheaton (Ill.) at 6 p.m. at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn.
