Brooklyn Rolls to 10-3 in the CUNYAC Over York

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs ended a two-game skid on Tuesday evening, dropping the visiting York Cardinals, 85-34 on Alumni Night at the West Quad Center. Brooklyn led from start to finish, as all 11 BC players scored to combine for the team's 10th conference win. The Bulldogs are now 14-7 overall, while the Cardinals fall to 4-16, and 2-10 in CUNYAC play.

Brooklyn started the game with some purpose, taking a 24-5 lead after the first quarter, and increased it to 26, 45-19, at the half.  Twanda Holder was a perfect 6-6 from the field in the half, good for 12 points, while Olivia Colbert led all scorers at the break with 14, on 6-7 from the field.

The Bulldogs continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the visitors 40-15 over the third and fourth quarters.

Colbert led all with 21 points while also pulling down 11 boards, dishing out three assists and nabbing three steals. Holder had an extremely productive 14 points in 16 minutes of action.

Karen Mak scored eight while dishing out a game-high 10 assists.  Taylor Gallagher was instant offense off the BC bench with 10 points and four assists.

Freshman Alexandra Moogan filled up the box score with six points, 11 boards and two blocked shots.

Shaunicia McClendon and Claudia Rhoden led York with eight points a piece.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday as they host Hunter College at 5 pm.
