The North Central College women's basketball team returned to the win column Wednesday night with a 105-82 victory over Augustana College in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) matchup inside Gregory Arena, setting an NCAA Division III record with its 11th 100-point game this season.

The 24th-ranked Cardinals (19-2, 8-2 CCIW) came out on top in a sloppy contest featuring 59 fouls, 69 free-throw attempts and 47 turnovers between the two teams, as North Central finished 29-of-40 from the charity stripe to Augustana's 15-of-29 while also holding a 26-21 turnover advantage.

Leading by just one with 4:30 to play in the opening half, North Central caught fire offensively, going on a 14-2 run to end the half, highlighted by a pair of lay-ins by Tess Godhardt.  North Central shot just 2-of-23 from three-point range in the opening half, but converted on 18-of-22 free throw attempts to take a 50-37 advantage into the intermission.

The Cardinal run poured over into the second half as Maryssa Cladis nailed a long ball, followed by another Godhardt lay-up to increase the lead 55-37 just over three minutes in.

North Central gradually increased its lead over the half, at one point leading by as many as 31 points down the stretch, converting on 8-of-26 three-point attempts in the second period.

Six Cardinals finished in double-figures, led by Godhardt's 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 9-of-11 shooting from the free-throw line.  Cladis and Corrine Rowe added 12 points apiece, while Jamie Cuny finished with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.  Bobbi Johns chipped in 12 points and a game-high eight assists, while Paula Zerante added 10 points off the bench.

The Vikings (7-14, 1-9 CCIW) were led by Marissa Pezzopane's 27 points, while Valerie VanRoeyen finished with 21 points on 4-of-7 shooting from long range.

North Central travels to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Feb. 7 with tip-off at the Shirk Center scheduled for 5 p.m.
