Maggie Weiers had 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting as No. 6-ranked St. Thomas (10-0) scored a 67-45 road win over Carthage (Wis.) in Tuesday's championship game of the Carthage Classic in Kenosha, Wis.

Carthage, 26-4 last season, had a 14-game home-court win streak halted. The Lady Reds' 45 points were their fewest in their last 96 games.

St. Thomas has held seven of its 10 opponents under 50 points.

Weiers, who was named the tournament MVP, had eight points as UST built a 20-2 lead in the game's first 12 minutes. The lead was cut to seven at halftime, and to 34-31 with 14:00 left. But four different Tommies hit 3-pointers during a 27-4 run as St. Thomas pulled away.

UST travels to Northfield Saturday to play Carleton (1 p.m.).
