Millikin Women Wins Sixth Straight

The Millikin women's basketball rolled to a 93-61 win at Fontbonne University on Dec. 6 in St. Louis for its sixth straight victory.  Millikin is now 6-1 on season and off to the program's best start since the 2005-06 season.  Fontbonne is now 3-3.

    Millikin started the game hot shooting over 60 percent over the first eight minutes of the game.  The Big Blue shot 58 percent in the half and built a 47-26 advantage.  The Big Blue shot 57 percent from the field while holding the Griffins to just 32 percent shooting.  Millikin dominated the boards out rebounding Fontbonne 48-26.

    Millikin had four players score in double figures led by Alyssa Saklak with 20 points.  Saklak had nine rebounds, three assists and three steals.  Kelsey Going had a double double with 17 points and a team high 10 rebounds.  Devin Curry had 13 points and Hannah Millington added 11.  Holly Haskins had a team high six assists along with six points.

    Fontbonne's Chelsy Gibson entered the game averaging 23 poins per game, but the Big Blue held her to just six points on the game.  Courtney Kedroski led Fontbonne with 16 points.

    Millikin returns to action on Dec. 13 at Washington University-St. Louis.
