ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — 48 hours after falling on a buzzer-beating layup, the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team came out focused and energized Monday evening in its Commonwealth Conference game with Arcadia. The Blue Jays routed the Knights, 80-31, for E-town's largest margin of victory on the season. Taylor Kreider also hit the 1,000-point milestone in an E-town uniform and finished with another double-double.

All Kreider needed coming into the night's contest was five points for her 1,000 and by 14:22 of the first half, she had eclipsed the mark and became the 24th player in women's program history to reach that plateau. Rachel Forjan handled the Elizabethtown's (16-4, 10-4 CC) out-of-bounds play underneath and found Kreider on the left block for the easy two. Play was halted for a moment to acknowledge Kreider's achievement.

The Jays found their stride early on and built the lead into double digits by 12:32 of the first half. Off an Arcadia (10-11, 4-10 CC) turnover, Forjan buried a trey to extend E-town's advantage to 11 at 18-7. EC's largest lead of the first half stood at 23.

Off another out-of-bounds play down low for Elizabethtown, the ball came in to Kreider with five ticks left. She found an open Emily Young at the free throw line for the jumper as time ran out, making it 42-20 in favor of E-town at the break.

Forjan found her shooting touch in the first half, going 6-of-7 for 16 points, including two-of-two from downtown. On the other end, the Blue Jays suffocated Arcadia's offense, limiting the Knights to 8-for-22 shooting (36.4%) and forcing 16 turnovers.

Elizabethtown kept its foot on the gas, beginning the second half with a 23-0 run to expand the lead to 45 with 13:35 remaining. The Knights recorded their first points of the half at 12:41 on a made three-pointer by Mary Badeen.

A telling tale of this game was the points in the paint. After Arcadia dominated the Jays back in mid-January by racking up 38 points in the paint, E-town was ready and held the Knights to just 16, while scoring 40 on the other end.

Kreider ended her stellar evening with a near triple-double, missing out by just two assists. She had 20 points and 12 rebounds to go with her eight assists. Forjan finished with 16, while Emily Young (12 points, nine rebounds) and Kendra Beittel (ten points, four steals) also hit double figures.

The women's basketball team travels to Chester, Pa. on Wednesday to face Widener at 6 p.m. The Blue Jays defeated the Pride at Thompson Gymnasium back in December, 76-62.
