The inside-out play of Kelecia Harris and Jessica Venturelli helped the Albright College women's basketball team to a 75-59 win over local rival Alvernia, Wednesday in the Bollman Center.

Harris made 10-of-15 field goals for 24 points and added nine rebounds, five blocks and three assists. Venturelli sank all three attempts behind the arc and 5-of-7 shots overall for 15 points.

Senior Kristi McFadden filled the box score with 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Sophomore Kadijah Bishop added 10 points, five boards and also five assists from the post.

Venturelli stole a pass and hit Harris on the break for an early 4-2 lead. Harris then blocked a shot and finished off McFadden's pass on the fast break to make it 6-4.

After Albright chased down a loose ball, McFadden drove for a three-point play with the shot clock running down to put the Lions ahead 13-7. Chelsea Ebersole answered with a three-pointer to make it a three-point game.

Bishop's elbow jumper midway through the half gave Albright a 19-10 lead. Stevie Fortna and Ebersole sank threes to keep the gap in double digits, but Harris soon finished off the and-one as Albright surged ahead 31-18.

Alvernia responded with a 12-2 run, with Ebersole's trey cutting the gap to 33-30 at 0:14 to go before halftime. McFadden beat the clock again, scoring with a second left on a running bank shot as the Lions went into the break up 35-30.

Senior Meghan Boyle dove for a loose ball in the opening minute of the second half and assisted Harris from the floor to put Albright on top 38-30. The Lions stretched that gap to 45-32 on another Harris hoop.

A Venturelli trey made it 48-32, and Amanda Tiritilli added an open triple for a 55-42 scoreline. After the Crusaders crept to within six points with 3:56 remaining, Venturelli was good again from downtown to give Albright a 66-57 lead. Shannon Thomas also hit a corner three in the final two minutes.

Kaitlyn Yoh led Alvernia with 17 points but was just 5-of-18 from the field. Ebersole had 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting.

Albright improves to 12-8, 6-7 and is currently in a three-way tie with Widener and Lycoming for the final Commonwealth playoff spot.
