SELINSGROVE, Pa. The Elizabethtown College women's basketball team ran its record to 3-0 on the season with a 57-41 road victory in non-conference action at Susquehanna Wednesday night. The trio of Taylor Kreider, Kendra Beittel, and Taylor Alwine accounted for over half the Jays' points in the game.

E-town was down 3-0 early on a three-pointer by the Crusaders' Mariah Monahan to open the game. Beittel then sank two foul shots to get the Jays on the board at 3-2.

Just over a minute later, Erika Ferro's jumper gave EC a 4-3 lead, and they would not trail again in the game after that point.

With less than ten minutes remaining in the first half, Elizabethtown had built a double-digit lead, but Monahan brought it back down to single digits with another jumper at 8:22, making it 18=9 in favor of the visitors.

A 9-0 run by the Blue Jays increased the advantage back up to 18 after Kreider's layup came off a pass from Rachel Forjan.

E-town led 34-18 at the break, shooting nearly 43 percent from the floor and 9-for-12 at the foul line.

The Jays pushed their lead to as many as 28 in the second half. Nikki Thompson dished the ball to Kreider, who converted her shot in the paint to make it 50-22.

E-town held Susquehanna (1-1) to 21 percent shooting (13-for-62) from the floor. The Blue Jays also out-rebounded the Crusaders, 51-45.

Kreider, Beittel, and Alwine each finished with ten points and eight boards. Alyssa Aichele and Forjan chipped in seven points apiece.

The women's basketball team will look to remain unbeaten as they open Commonwealth Conference play Tuesday, November 26, at Lycoming. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
