MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran College shot nearly 50% from the field and remained undefeated in Northern Athletics Conference play, defeating the Lakeland College women's basketball team 69-58 Saturday afternoon.

The Muskies battled throughout the contest and received several solid individual performances but dropped to 8-13 overall and 6-8 in the NAC. Wisconsin Lutheran led from start to finish in winning its ninth straight game and improving to 12-0 in the NAC and 17-2 overall.

The Warriors shot 27-of-56 for the game, making 48.2% of their shots. WLC was 14-of-28 in the first half, leading by as many as 17 points before the Muskies crawled back in with a 9-0 run, eventually trailing 33-22 at halftime.

Lakeland hung around early in the second half, twice cutting the deficit to eight early in the half on jumpers by Taylor Jandrin (Jr.-Forestville, Wis.). The Warriors eventually pulled out to their largest lead of the game when Carrie Thoma converted a three-point play to make it 54-34 with 11:20 left in the game.

The Muskies continued to fight to the end, though, and got within 10 points with 1:19 to play on a jumper by Leah Eisner (Jr.-Stevens Point, Wis.). Eisner scored 15 of her game-high 21 points in the second half, and also finished with nine rebounds.

Becky Mayo (Sr.-Gladstone, Mich.) added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Dana Henrichs (Sr.-Fall Creek, Wis.) also scored 12 points. The Muskies shot 23-of-67 (34.3%) for the game. Aimee Thrune (Jr.-Prairie du Sac, Wis.) added six assists and Natalie Neitzel (Fr.-Theresa, Wis.) also made four steals off the bench.

Melanie Laete led Wisconsin Lutheran with 17 points, Shavon Dillon added 14 points, and Kristen Schulz finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors out-rebounded Lakeland 41-37.

Lakeland will play its final two regular season home games this week, starting with a game against Marian (Wis.) University Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Woltzen Gymnasium.
