Erin Ryczek scored 28 points for Rockford (Ill.) College and the Lakeland College women's basketball team dropped its fourth straight game with a 70-61 loss Saturday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Conference game.

The Muskies shot just 29.0% for the game and lost a five-point halftime lead, dropping to 7-12 overall, including 5-7 in the NAC North Division. Rockford got its third conference win this season, improving to 5-13 overall and 3-7 in the NAC South.

Lakeland led almost the entire first half and held a 32-27 lead at halftime, but cold shooting eventually caught up. The Muskies made just 12 of 41 shots in the first half (29.3%), and would make just 8-of-28 from the field in the second half as well (28.6%).

The Regents chipped away in the second half and took the lead for good when Ryczek converted a three-point play to make it 52-50 with 7:54 left in the game. Rockford would make it a 14-3 run to take control, and Ryczek's fifth three-pointer of the game made it 64-53 with 4:18 to play. The Muskies never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Lakeland led by eight points on two occasions in the first half, the last time when a jumper by Natalie Neitzel (Fr.-Theresa, Wis.) made it 30-22 with 58 seconds left before halftime. The Muskies took advantage of 13 Rockford turnovers in the first half, and Taylor Jandrin (Jr.-Forestville, Wis.) had 11 points while Becky Mayo (Sr.-Gladstone, Mich.) picked up 10 rebounds in the first 20 minutes alone.

Jandrin led Lakeland with 17 points for the game, including four three-pointers. Leah Eisner (Jr.-Stevens Point, Wis.) added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Mayo chipped in 10 points and 15 boards.

Ryczek added 11 rebounds to her 28 points, making 8-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-10 from three-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Arielle Nichols added 11 points off the bench with three three-pointers. The Regents shot 42.4% (25-of-59), including 8-of-17 from three-point range and 12-of-15 from the line.

The Muskies are on the road Tuesday to face Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 7 p.m. in Watertown.
