Geena Sneeringer records triple-double as Pitt-Bradford rolls

Geena Sneeringer recorded a triple-double and the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team rolled to a 74-38 victory over Penn State Altoona Saturday.

The Panthers, who snapped their two-game losing streak with the win, opened the game on an 11-4 run and never looked back. They led 38-20 at the break and their advantage would balloon to more than 30 in the final minutes of the contest.

Pitt-Bradford limited the Lions to 29 percent shooting and scored 28 points off 24 Altoona turnovers. The Panthers outscored the visitors by 12 in the paint, held a 47-26 advantage on the boards, and were 19-27 from the free throw line. They hit on 46 percent of their attempts and scored 16 second-chance points.

Sneeringer finished with a career-high 23 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals. She was 9-17 from the floor overall and 4-6 from the line. It was the first triple-double since former Panther Dani Zeamer accomplished the feat on Nov. 29, 2010, against Allegheny.

Brate added 12 points, six assists and four steals, and Alicia Kimmel and Allison Osborne each scored 11 points apiece.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 8-8 on the year and 6-4 in the AMCC. The Panthers have the week off before traveling to Pitt-Greensburg next Saturday.
