STEVENS POINT, Wis. – After an eight day holiday break, the Edgewood College women's team was back on the road. Mariah Hill poured in a career-high 24 points, but the Eagles could not keep up with the 19th ranked team in the nation and fell to UW-Stevens Point 77-58 on Saturday.

Hill got things rolling for Edgewood College (4-8) with the first bucket of the game, followed by aMelanie Walker jumper but the Pointers went on a 8-0 run to pull ahead 10-4. From that point, it seemed that UW-Stevens Point could do no wrong as they hit 64.5 percent (20-for-31) of their shots from the field including four of six from beyond the arc. The Eagles saw their deficit grow to 30 before Hill and Zoey Dougherty combined for the last eight points of the half, cutting the Pointers (9-3) lead to 50-28 at the break.

In the second half, Edgewood College connected on 42.9 (6-for-14) percent of their three-point attempts and saw their deficit decrease to 19, but could not get any closer. Hill contributed with another dozen points in the second half, but no other Eagle was able to score in double figures and the 19th ranked Pointers coasted to a 19 point victory.

For the game, Hill converted on 10 of 18 shots from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range. The sophomore also added three assists and a rebound in her career performance night. Brooke Negus and Brooke McBain both came off the bench to net seven apiece.

Melanie Walker and Alison Tobin, Edgewood College's two leading scorers on the season, had a hard time finding open looks against a tough UW-Stevens Point defense and only scored two points each.

After a four game road trip, Edgewood College finally returns home on January 2. The Eagles have not played in the Edgedome since December 6. Live stats and live video will be available for this Northern Athletics Conference matchup. Fans can follow the action on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
