Top-ranked DePauw Picks Up 32nd Straight Regular Season Win

Top-ranked DePauw extended its regular season win streak to 32 and stayed undefeated on the season following a 71-48 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Ohio Wesleyan.

Continuing their best start in school history at 7-0 overall, the Tigers improved to 2-0 in NCAC play with the win which was their 26th straight in conference play (18 in NCAC and eight in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference). The Battling Bishops dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

DePauw scored the game's first seven points on buckets by Kate Walker and Ali Ross and a three-pointer from Savannah Trees. The hosts were within five at 11-6, but the Tigers scored 18 of the next 20 to extend the lead to 29-8 with just under nine minutes left in the half.

The Tigers went to the intermission with a 43-18 lead after shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and holding Ohio Wesleyan to just 25.0 percent.

DePauw shot just 28 percent over the final 20 minutes, but the Battling Bishops weren't able to trim the deficit below 20 points.

Trees and Alex Gasaway each scored 14 points, while Alison Stephens chipped in 10 to lad the Tigers. Gasaway paced DePauw with nine rebounds, while Ellie Pearson, Walker and Emma Ondik each handed out four assists.

Sarah McQuade paced Ohio Wesleyan with 21 points and two assists with four players grabbing four rebounds each.

DePauw returns to action on December 18-19 when it faces 22nd-ranked Babson and eighth-ranked Messiah.
