          The Millikin women's basketball team lost to Wisconsin Lutheran College 59-46 on Dec. 7 in the first game of Millikin's 13th Annual Harriett Crannell Holiday Classic.

          Wisconsin Lutheran had a 29-28 advantage at the half, but the Big Blue rallied to take a second half lead before the Warriors finally took control of the game late in the second half.

          Wisconsin Lutheran shot 36 percent from the field while Millikin managed to hit only 30 percent of its shots.  The Warriors were 7-20 from three point range (35 percent) and Millikin hit on 2-15 (13 percent) from beyond the arc.  Millikin won the battle on the board 44-41.  Wisconsin Lutheran committed 26 turnovers while Millikin committed 24.    

          Freshman Alyssa Saklak led Millikin in scoring coming off the bench to score 14 points.  Senior Nikki Tipsword had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. 

          The Warriors had three players in double figures with Rachel Hoft and Shavon Dillon each scoring 12 points and Kristen Schultz adding 11.

          Wisconsin Lutheran is now 6-1 and will play Westminster College on Saturday, Dec. 8.

          Millikin is now 1-4 and will play Westminster on Sunday in the final game of the Crannell Classic.
