LISLE, Ill. - Holding visiting Aurora without any points for almost the first seven minutes of the second half, the Benedictine University women's basketball team eased its way to a 64-45 win for the second straight victory following five straight losses to open the season.

Following an even opening five minutes of the contest, Benedictine took the lead for good with 14:33 to play in the first half when Michelle Batty hit a jump shot. Aurora hung around in the half, facing the largest deficit of just six points. Benedictine led 31-25 at the half.

Michelle Gaede drilled a three to open the scoring in the second half, the first points of a 16-0 run capped with a Katie Hunzinger layup. Benedictine went on to lead by as many as 22 points in cruising to the victory.

Alexis Joseph led all scorers matching a career high with 14 points and added a career best 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. The Eagles have posted four double-doubles this season. Meghan Novak was a spark off the bench, scoring a season best 10 points as Benedictine used 18 players in the contest.

Benedictine (2-5, 2-1) will travel to Goshen (Indiana) for a 5:00 p.m. contest on Thursday night.
