After honoring its seniors, the University of Redlands women's basketball team continued the celebration as senior guard Mariah Barbetti-Cort(Ventura, CA) notched her 1000th career point during the second half of a 70-35 rout over the visiting Beavers of Caltech. She entered the game just nine points shy of the milestone and now joins fellow senior forwardCourtney Carroll (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) in this impressive scoring club.
After draining two three-pointers in the first stanza, Barbetti-Cort hit a layup for her 999th point at the 17:12-mark of the second half. The major career accomplishment came just two minutes later when she knocked down a long jumper right in front of the Bulldog bench.

Barbetti-Cort finished out Senior Night with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Carroll also registered a strong effort in her final regular-season game in Currier Gym, providing a team-high 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one block. She scored her final basket on a solid three-pointer with 1:28 left in the game.
Eight other Bulldogs tallied at least two points in the victory with sophomore forward Brittany Oster (Agoura Hills, CA) and freshman forward Nicole Packard (Thousand Oaks, CA) chipping in nine apiece.
The Beavers kept it close through the first half by knocking down 39.1% of their shots, highlighted by a pair of three-pointers by sophomore guard Marlyn Moore (Elmira, NY). She went on to score a game-high 15 points for Caltech.
Holding a 28-22 halftime lead, the Bulldogs erupted for 42 points in the second stanza to run away with the easy victory. Redlands used a 19-6 run to break it open and never looked back.
With one game to play, Redlands (17-7, 11-2 SCIAC) keeps its hold on second place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings. The Bulldogs head to Cal Lutheran University for an important conference doubleheader on Saturday. The women tip off against the Regals at 5 p.m., followed by the men's showdown at approximately 7 p.m.
