Sixth-ranked DePauw Makes it 16 Straight with Win at Ohio Wesleyan

Sixth-ranked DePauw opened with a 16-2 run in the opening seven minutes of its North Coast Athletic Conference game at Ohio Wesleyan and cruised to a 74-37 win over the Battling Bishops.

The Tigers improved to 17-1 overall and 10-0 in the NCAC with its 16th straight victory, while Ohio Wesleyan dropped to 7-12 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

DePauw scored the game's first seven points and hit six of its first eight shots in the opening 6:16 to take a 16-2 lead. The Battling Bishops briefly stopped the run, but the Tigers scored 10 straight to take a 26-4 lead with 8:02 remaining in the half. The lead reached as many as 31 before the teams headed to the intermission with DePauw holding a 39-10 advantage.

The hosts were within 23 in the second half, but the Tigers finished the game with a 15-5 stretch for the win.

Savannah Trees led DePauw with 12 points and a career-high five assists, while Ali Ross followed with 11 points and four steals. Alex Gasaway paced DePauw with a career-best 12 rebounds as the Tigers held a 38-27 edge on the boards.

Tamra Londot paced Ohio Wesleyan with eight points, while Kristin Henning grabbed five rebounds.

DePauw committed just nine turnovers to Ohio Wesleyan's 24 and the Tigers had a 33-6 advantage in points off of turnovers. The Tigers shot 43.6 percent from the field to the Battling Bishops' 38.1 percent.
