JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Lehman women got back on track on Friday night, benefiting from monster games by Amanda De La Cruz and Jaleesa Gordon to defeat York 87-67 and improve to 9-10 on the season.

De La Cruz was simply spectacular as she registered a triple-double of 22 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds while teammate Jaleesa Gordon was every bit a terror herself, scoring 25 points, ripping down 15 rebounds and blocking four shots.  For Gordon it was her fourth double-double in six games and the fourth straight game that she has blocked at least three shots.

Also contributing mightily for the Lightning was Paula Robinson, who tallied her third 16-point game in her last five contests.  The Lehman junior canned 7-of-15 shots, including two from downtown in 37 minutes of action.  Alicia McDaniel was the fourth Lightning player in double figures as she finished with 11 points before fouling out.

York's Shadae Rice (17 points), Shadea Green (14 points) and Ishonda McFarland (14 points) all scored in double figures for the host Cardinals.

Lehman led from the start against the Cardinals, building as much as a 14-point before York cut its deficit to three points at 29-26 with 4:30 remaining before the intermission.  The quartet of De La Cruz, Gordon, Robinson and Jasmin Castro-Lopez all tallied baskets from that point forward  to help Lehman enter the half up 43-34.

The Cardinals managed to hang around through the first seven minutes of the second half, remaining nine down after a Vanessa Rivera three-pointer made the score 55-46 in Lehman's favor.

Following that basket, however, the Lightning went on a 22-3 run, culminating with a basket from Gordon that bloated Lehman's lead to 77-49 with 8:57 left in the game.  Over the stretch De La Cruz dropped in 10 points, Robinson netted five, Gordon had four points, McDaniel tallied three points and Castro-Lopez tossed in a bucket.

Lehman now stands at 4-3 in the conference with four days off until its next game, a CUNYAC tussle with the College of Staten Island on January 25.
