PASADENA, Calif. – The Redlands women's basketball team raced out to an early lead and never looked back in posting a 76-34 SCIAC win over Caltech on Saturday evening at the Braun Athletic Center.

Turnovers on seven of their first eight possessions stymied the Beavers early as Redlands built a 14-2 lead less than six minutes into the contest. The Redlands defense pressured the Beavers into 22 turnovers in the opening half en route to posting a 22-6 edge in points off turnovers.

Redlands, who came into the game as the SCIAC top shooting team, nailed 14 of their 29 field goal (48.3 percent) attempts in building a 36-10 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs continued to shoot well in the second half as they upped their lead. The visitors converted half of their 30 field goal attempts in the last frame in taking the win.

Caltech's Teri Juarez had a team best 10 points. The senior came into the game as the league's top rebounder had a game high seven. Sarah Wright chipped in a nine point effort for the home team.
