Gwynedd-Mercy Keeps It Rolling, Defeats Cedar Crest

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Four different players reached double figures as Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Cedar Crest, 96-45, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference tilt helping the Griffins win their seventh-straight game.

Senior Bryn Cotteta paced GM (12-6, 8-1 CSAC) with a game-high 22 points while Brittany Neill added 14. Sophomores Cara McArdle and Natasha Matthews chipped in 13 and 11 respectively as the Griffins shot a season-best 58.7% (37-of-63) from the floor.

Lizzy Sunderhaus registered a double-double, going for 20 points and 10 rebounds while hitting a perfect 14-for-14 from the free-throw line.

Cotteta and Neill (four each) combined to hit for eight of the team's 11 three-pointers. The duo were instrumental in igniting a 35-5 run to close the first half, increasing a five-point lead into a 53-19 advantage at the break.

The Griffins forced 26 turnovers which led to 36 GM points and held a 32-28 rebounding edge. Sophomore Jess Rotella led GM with six caroms.

Gwynedd-Mercy returns to action on Wednesday when they venture to Keystone in a CSAC matchup starting at 7 p.m.
