#9 DePauw Women Extend Home Conference Win Streak to 65 with Victory over Battling Bishops

Ninth-ranked DePauw improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 79-52 win over visiting Ohio Wesleyan. The Battling Bishops dropped to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.  The win also marked the Tigers' 65th straight conference home win and second since joining the NCAC.

DePauw hit just three of its first 21 shots and found itself trailing, 11-10, in the opening 10 minutes, The Battling Bishops still held a 20-19 lead with seven minutes remaining in the half before DePauw went on a 19-6 run to close the half and take a 38-26 lead into the intermission.

The Tigers quickly put the game away in the second half by scoring 11 straight in the opening five minutes to push the lead to 49-28. The margin reached as much as 38 points with six minutes left.

Ali Ross led four DePauw double-figure scorers with 20 points, while Lauren Abendroth notched a career-high 15 on 5-of-10 three-point shooting. Alex Gasaway also scored 15 and Katie Aldrich added 13. Ellie Pearson led the Tigers with 11 rebounds and Kate Walker dished out a career-high nine assists.

Tamra Londot and Caroline Welker each scored 10 for the Battling Bishops with LaNiece McRae, Helen Scheblo and Welker grabbing three rebounds apiece. Kandis Walker handed out five assists in the loss.

DePauw shot just 36 percent for the game, but hit 48.6 percent in the second half. The Tigers knocked down 10-of-31 three-pointers and held a 54-20 edge on the boards. DePauw grabbed 29 offensive rebounds and held a 17-2 advantage in second-chance points.
