ANNVILLE, Pa. – A strong second half by #17/#16 Lebanon Valley women's basketball sent the Dutchmen to an 83-68 win over Neumann Friday evening in the NCAA Tournament First Round. Five players scored in double digits to record the program's first NCAA win.

Suzie Noyes led the squad with 18 points and five steals, while Andrea Hoover added 17 points and seven assists. Tierney Hiltz (14), Caitlin Bach (13), and Liz Borgia (12) rounded out the scoring for LVC. Seven players grabbed two or more rebounds, led by eight from Bach.

The Knights were paced by 24 points and 15 rebounds from Katie Young. Erica Marvel dished out 18 points and Bethany Humenik scored 10 points for Neumann.

LVC opened the game with back-to-back layups from Hoover and Noyes, and continued with a 13-4 run in the first four minutes. Neumann fought back, scoring 18 points while holding the Dutchmen to seven over the next six minutes to take the lead for the first time.

Two free-throws from Borgia put Lebanon Valley ahead 22-21 at 8:26, and the Dutchmen held the lead until a layup from Humenik with 4:01 to play. Two 3-pointers from Marvel in the final minutes gave the Knights a 35-33 lead at the half.

Neumann regained the lead early in the second half until the Dutchmen ran off 12 straight points. Relying on free throw shots, Lebanon Valley hit 17 in the final 11 minutes of the contest. The Dutchmen maintained a double digit lead for most of the second half and finished with a 15 point lead.

The Dutchmen shot 50% from the floor and 3-point range, and shot 88.9% from the free throw line.

Lebanon Valley continues play in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m., hosting Randolph-Macon in the Second Round.
