Cougars Clinch Seventh Place in Playoffs with Win at Thiel

GREENVILLE, PA (February 19, 2011) . . . The Chatham University women's basketball team clinched the seventh seed in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) standings today with a conference win at Thiel College 63-59.

 

Chatham was trailing for most of the game today at Thiel, but with an impressive comeback down the stretch, was able to secure the victory 63-59 over the Tomcats and clinch seventh place in the conference going into playoffs this week.

 

Leading the Cougars today was Colleen Kiss (McKeesport, PA/Oakland Catholic) with a career-high 19 points. Senior Barb Petty (Amelia, OH/Glen Este) led the team in another column today, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds in the PAC victory.

 

Today's win for the Cougars marks their fourth consecutive double-digit win season – the only four in school history.

 

Chatham (10-15, 5-1) will play St. Vincent College on Tuesday, February 22nd in the first round of the PAC playoffs at a time still to be determined.
