The Oswego State women's basketball team was red hot from behind the three-point line during its annual "Pink Zone" game, topping visiting Brockport, 84-61 Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. The Lakers shot a steamy 66.7 percent from downtown on 10-for-16 shooting to compensate for being without leading scorer Kayla Ryan.  The win moved Oswego State to 11-13 (8-9 in SUNYAC play), while the loss dropped Brockport to 6-18 overall (4-13 in SUNYAC play).

The win marks the most points scored this season by the Lakers and the largest margin of victory since the season opener versus Cazenovia College, which Oswego State won, 88-33.

Jenna Rossi shot 9-for-16, picking up 21 points, four assists and two steals along the way. Teammates Kristen Diglio and Meagan Stover both shot 5-for-10, going 4-for-7 and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, respectively, while combining for 27 more points. Diglio and teammate Wanda Sanchez each had five boards.

Brockport's Ellen Story led the Golden Eagles, shooting 4-for-7 and scoring 13 points and picking up six defensive boards. Teammate Sarah Alwardt went 5-for-9 and tallied 11 points while bringing in five defensive boards.

Down 12-9 early in the first half, a three-point shot from Traci Bacon evened the score and sent Oswego State on a 20-0 run.  The Lakers expanded their lead to 23 on the strength of three more treys before the half, leading 47-24 at the break.

It proved to be a lead that the Golden Eagles would not recover from. Oswego State led by as many as 28 points on two occasions in the second half.

Oswego State wraps up its regular season Saturday afternoon when it hosts SUNYAC leader Geneseo (21-3 overall, 16-1 in SUNYAC play) at 2 p.m.
