Lady Choctaws Have Four-Game Win Streak Snapped at Ozarks, 77-72

CLARKSVILLE, AR - The Mississippi College women's basketball team had their four-game win streak snapped with a 77-72 loss at the University of the Ozarks in the Mabee Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Ozarks led by as many as 12 points in the first half as they staked a claim to a 17-5 lead with 13:32 remaining in the first half.  MC would come all the way back to take a 40-34 lead at the halftime break.

The Lady Eagles came out in the second half and shot 58% (15-26) as they regained the lead and held on for the victory.

The Lady Choctaws were led by senior Jalessa Taylor with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds.  Senior Jennifer Wair tallied a game-high 23 points on 9-12 shooting from the floor.

Sophomore Traci Rodgers was the only other player in double-figures for MC with 10 points.  Sophomore Elizabeth Brooks finished with nine points and a team-high seven assists.

The Lady Eagles were led by Sabrina Goddard with 21 points on 9-12 shooting.  Alison Villines finished with 12 points, while April Young tallied 11.

The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Monday night when they travel to Richardson, TX to face Texas-Dallas at 5:30 p.m.
