Mary Washington Completes Sweep of Hood Women, 58-21

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--The Hood College women's basketball team (7-14, 2-12 CAC) lost to the first-place University of Mary Washington Eagles (17-5, 12-1 CAC), 58-21, in a Capital Athletic Conference contest Wednesday evening.

The Eagles tallied the first four points of the night and never trailed en route to completing the regular season sweep over the Blazer women. UMW also won its 10th straight game dating back to Jan. 5.

Hood was led by Emily Maerz who connected on 4-of-8 from the field for nine points. Allyson Lethbridge chipped in five points while Dyanna Prater had four and Caitlyn Nixon, who made her first start in a Blazer uniform, grabbed five rebounds and connected on 1-of-5 from the floor.

Eleven Eagles contributed to the scoring, paced by Katie Wimmer's game-high 13.

Hood next travels to Marymount University Saturday for its final road game of the season at 2 p.m.
