CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 8) -- University of Dallas would not go away and the Crusaders nearly completed the come-back effort, but a pair of free throws from junior Anna Roane with seven seconds left was just enough to give Hendrix College a 75-74 win on Tuesday night at Grove Gymnasium.

Dallas (11-9) scratched and clawed its way back into the game despite a seven-point deficit with 42 seconds left in regulation. Roane's free throws gave Hendrix (13-9) a 75-71 lead and Crusaders' first year Christy Allen knocked down a 3-pointer as time expired to reach the final mark.

The Warriors led the entire way, but the Crusaders away seemed to have an answer for all of Hendrix's runs. The Warriors' largest lead of the first half was 10 points, 17-7, with 11:18 to go. Hendrix eventually took a 36-28 advantage at intermission.

A layup from senior Christina Byler off an assist from junior Samantha Devlin gave Hendrix its largest lead of the game at 15 points, 53-38, with 13:45 left on the clock. Dallas hung around and eventually scored seven unanswered points to make it a four-point ballgame, 65-61, with just 2:14 to go. First year Bailey Ott knocked down her first career field goal, a clutch 3-pointer, on the Warriors' next possession.

Byler led Hendrix with 22 points and 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Roane finished with 15 points and four assists. Senior Wyvonne Hawkins added nine points off the bench, while junior Katy Ashley-Pauley scored seven points with four assists and three steals. Junior Avery Roller and first year Jamie Tate also dished out four assists apiece.

Sophomore Kylie Yoshimura poured in a game-high 29 points and seven assists despite fouling out with 3:55 left in the game. Senior Cara Sczepanski scored 14 points and first year Christy Allen tallied 13 points.

Hendrix evens the season-series at 1-1 and improves to 19-3 all-time against Dallas. The Warriors will now prepare for its SCAC game against Millsaps College on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. Hendrix will honor its two seniors Byler and Hawkins for Senior Day prior to tip-off.
