CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The No. 19 Gallaudet University women's basketball team won its 19th straight game this season as the Bison won 71-57 on the road Saturday over Wilson College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest.

Gallaudet (19-0, 16-0) trailed several times in the first half but a last second 3-pointer sent the Bison into halftime up 32-31. The Bison didn't look back from there as they outscored the Phoenix 39-26 in the second half. GU is off to its best start in program history as it extended the program's best win streak to 19.

Senior forward/center Easter Faafiti (Pittsburg, Calif.) led all-scorers with 31 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and four steals. The All-American recorded her third 30-point game this season, two in as many games, and tied her season-high mark for points with 31. The double-double was her 14th of the season and 12th in a row. Faafiti scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the second half. She matched her season-high mark for field goals made (14) as she made 14-of-21 in the game.

Faafiti wasn't alone in the scoring as two other Bison reached double figures in the win. Sophomore guard Amy Bachtel (Columbus, Ohio) scored 12 points while freshman guard Stephanie Weiss (Wellington, Fla.) had 10 points and six assists. Three of Weiss' points came with a last second 3-pointer before halftime. Junior guard Andrea Amati (Frederick, Md.) added nine points and four rebounds and freshman Tandy Lewis (Frederick, Md.) chipped in eight points and seven rebounds.

Wilson (2-18, 1-17) had four players in double figures led by Vanessa Whitfield's 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Alashia Butler added 12 points, Tara Fields contributed 11 points and five rebounds and Alaina Hofer tallied 10 points and five rebounds in the loss. Whitfield hit a 3-pointer at the 8:21 mark in the first half to give the Phoenix their biggest lead of the game, 22-17. Gallaudet erased that with an 8-0 run to take a 25-22 lead after Lewis drained a 3-point shot.

Gallaudet shot 49.2 percent from the field (31-for-63) thanks to a 56.7 percent (17-for-30) performance in the second half. The Bison outrebounded the Phoenix 42-27 and held a 15-6 advantage on second chance points. The game featured six lead changes and three ties. The largest lead for the Bison was 19 late in the game.

The Bison sweep the season series with Wilson as they won 71-38 back on December 1, 2010, in Washington, D.C.

GU will return home to play four of its final five regular-season conference games at home. The Bison will welcome Penn St.-Berks (11-8, 10-6) to the Field House on Wednesday, February 9, for a 5 p.m. game.
