RALEIGH, N.C. – Thanks to a game-high 22 points from Karissa Herring, Peace College rallied for a 48-40 USA South Conference women's basketball victory over visiting Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (7-9, 3-6 USA South) led 26-22 at the break, but Peace (7-7, 3-5) had already begun its comeback.

The Hornets had led at one point 21-12, only to see PC end the first half on a 10-5 run.

The Pacers then took a lead it would not relinquish by scoring the first 10 points of the second; SU was held without a point for the first 6:30 of the stanza.

Peace extended its advantage out to seven points by the midpoint of the period and eventually by 11 points in the final 90 seconds.

Junior Mandy Johnston and senior Sierra Edwards paced the Hornets with 14 and 11 points, respectively. Eleven of Johnston's points came in the first half.

In addition to Herring's 22, Angel Fuller added nine for PC.

Shenandoah finishes this weekend trip tomorrow with a 2 p.m. game at Meredith.
