Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team ran its winning streak to four games and moved to within a game of the .500 mark after a hard fought 69-60 win over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Thursday. Sarah Kluth (Lynbrook, N.Y.) again led the Mount in scoring with 18 points and Andree DeLeon (Flushing, N.Y.) added a career-high 16 to the winning effort.

Mount Saint Vincent opened the game on a 6-0 run and maintained the lead until Kathleen Lamb pushed the Golden Eagles out in front 11-10 on a three pointer with 13:52 left to go in the half. The two teams would then trade the lead six times, until the Mount put together a quick 6-1 run to pull in front 25-20.

The lead would hold until the 1:27 mark of the period when Christina Cohen drained a triple for the Golden Eagles, as St. Joseph's would head into the locker room with a 32-30 lead.

The visitors shot 46.4-percent from the floor in the half and held the Dolphins to just 34.3-percent shooting, but the Mount used a 12-2 edge in second chance points to stay close. Kluth netted 11 points in the opening 20 minutes for the Mount and added five rebounds.

St. Joseph's-L.I. would not surrender the lead in the game until the 12:57 mark of the second half when Andrea Sinaly (Middle Village, N.Y.) canned a three-pointer to move the Dolphins in front 43-41 with just under 13 minutes left in the contest. That bucket would give the Dolphins a lead they would not give back, as they allowed the Golden Eagles as close as two points the rest of the night. Mount Saint Vincent's largest lead came at the 3:14 mark when Sinaly converted a jumper to give her team a 60-49 edge.

Sinaly was one of three Dolphins to score in double-figures and was one of two to record a career-high in the contest. She finished the night 5-for-9 from the floor on her way to 11 points and also added a steal and three rebounds.

Kluth finished the night 5-for-11 from the floor and 7-for-10 from the free-throw line on her way to 18 points. She has now scored in double-figures eight straight games and has been the Dolphins' leading scorer nine times this season. She also chipped in with seven boards and four steals.

DeLeon continued her steady play for Mount Saint Vincent after going 6-for-13 from the field and matching her career-best with six assists. She also hauled in four rebounds and swiped a steal.

Mount Saint Vincent was held to 33.8-percent shooting overall in the game and went just 3-for-15 from behind the arc, but converted 12 more free-throws then St. Joseph's. The Dolphins also held a 51-42 edge on the backboards and used a 24-14 advantage on the offensive end to convert 20 second chance points.

The win gives Mount Saint Vincent four straight and five in its last six overall to move it to 6-7 overall on the season and to 4-5 in Skyline play. The Dolphins will remain home on Tuesday when they host league preseason favorite Mount Saint Mary. Tip-off with the Knights is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
