DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Misericordia University went on a 19-4 run over the final seven-plus minutes of the first half and cruised to a 67-47 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The win improved the Cougars to 7-5 overall and a perfect 3-0 record in league play. The Aggies fell to 6-7 and 0-3.

The early stages of the contest was a back-and-forth affair with neither team holding a lead larger than four points. Delaware Valley pulled to within one, 20-19 as Rochelle Teesdale hit a pair of free throws with 7:35 to go before the intermission. However, it was all Misericordia for the rest of the stanza as Tyann McDaniel had seven points while Jesse Robinson and Kayla Sileo added four apiece to lead the big spurt and the 39-23 advantage at the break. The Cougar defense also played a major role as they forced the Aggies into eight turnovers and 2-for-6 shooting from the field during that critical stretch.

Delaware Valley could not get any closer than 14 points in the second half while Misericordia built the lead to as many 22. The Cougars finished the game shooting 46.6 percent from the field compared to 33.3 percent by the Aggies.

McDaniel hit four 3-pointers in the game and finished with a team-best 17 points for the Cougars. Robinson added 16 points and seven rebounds while Christine Marks and Hannah Seely had 10 points each and combined for 16 rebounds.
