Washington, D.C. – Marymount University's women's basketball team won the consolation game of the 2011 Fairfield Inn Holiday Tournament with a 61-58 victory over Staten Island on Sunday.  The Saints even their season record to 5-5 on the year.

Senior guard Amanda Billy notched a season-high 42 points in the win, nailing 11 three-pointers in the victory.  She was named to the All-Tournament team in the process.

Marymount trailed by as many as 12 points 10 minutes into the first half before rallying for a 22-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a six point lead.  The Saints would close out the frame up nine behind a Billy three-pointer with five second left to go into the break up 37-28.

Pushing their lead to as many as 16 in the second stanza on a Shannon Gough layup, the Saints saw the Dolphins (1-8) storm back via a 12-0 run to take a 53-51 lead at the 6:35 mark.  Keeping things close down the stretch, a Billy three with 55 ticks remaining put MU up three before she closed the game out on the line with a pair of free throws with 14 seconds to play.

Allie Shanahan led Staten Island with 23 points while Katelyn Hepworth notched a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as it returns to Capital Athletic Conference play against league-leader St. Mary's (Md.) at 6 p.m.
