Gwynedd-Mercy Grinds Out Win Over Richard Stockton

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy won its sixth game in a row as the Griffins grinded out a 67-60 non-league win over Richard Stockton Saturday afternoon at the Griffin Complex.

Brittany Neill helped lead a second-half charge as the junior netted a game-high 24 points while connecting on seven three-pointers.
Seniors Kristy McGrath and Stacey Judge helped out as the duo combined for 23 points and 14 rebounds and each had a blocked shot.
The Griffins (6-1) trudged through a tough first half, shooting just 21%, but kept things close. Richard Stockton held an eight-point lead late in the stanza before Neill struck from downtown to pull GM to a 31-26 deficit at the break.
Gwynedd battled in the second stanza, rallying to tie the score four times before taking their first lead with 3:18 left on a three-pointer from Neill. She would hit again from downtown on the next possession to open up a five-point lead and help GM pull away for good.
Freshman Lauren Smith added seven points and grabbed nine boards as the Griffins rebounded to shoot 43% in the second half and hold an important 47-40 team rebound edge.
Julia Fagan and LaTonya Oliver each had 13 points apiece for the Ospreys (7-3). Oliver also scoured down a game-high 11 rebounds and added seven blocked shots. As a team, Richard Stockton had 12 blocks.
