(Steubenville, OH) – The 22nd ranked Medaille women's basketball team played its third straight AMCC road game and they returned to Buffalo as winners each time.  In this one the Lady Mavs surged to a (28) point lead seven minutes into the second half and cruised to a (63-49) win over Franciscan University.

Freshman Joelle Pollak (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore East) had the best game of her collegiate career as she poured in a game high (21) points on (7 of 13) shooting from the floor, including knocking down a trio of three pointers.

Junior forward Tanisha Travis (Rochester, NY/Fairport) dominated the glass for the Lady Mavs as she pulled down (15) caroms, six of which came off the offensive glass.  She also chipped in with (7) points and (2) blocked shots. Senior Amanda Sahhar (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) also grabbed six offensive boards en route to a (8) rebound day.

The first half of this contest would see Medaille's defense dominate as they forced the Barons into a multitude of turnovers which resulted in transition points on the other end of the floor.  That effort stretched into the second half and the Barons were unable to recover as the game wore on.

The win is the fourth straight for the Lady Mavs as they improve to (6-1) overall and remain unbeaten in AMCC play at (4-0).  The Lady Mavs will finally return home on Monday (12/13) for a 4:00pm non-conference matchup with Clarkson University.
